Education, musicals, Sinatra and concerts

Andreas Vetö was educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Music as a Master of Music in Ensemble Conducting 2011.

Andreas started conducting at the age of 20 and during the years he has conducted several different ensembles, among others The Royal Danish Academy of Music ‘s Brass Ensemble and Big Band and Lyngby-Taarbæk Symphony Orchestra with which he opened the ”Spot Festival” in 2009 together with the known electro pop singer ‘Oh Land’.

For the last 8 years Andreas Vetö has been the regular conductor of the Theatre ‘Gorgerne’ and the productions ‘Jekyll & Hyde’, ‘Urinetown’, ‘Chess’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Spamalot’, ‘The Full Monty’, ”Legally Blonde” and ”Footloose” and will in the autumn 2016 be conducting ”The Drowsy Chaperone”.

During the the past years Andreas Vetö has worked with the singer and actor Flemming Enevold, primarily as the conductor of the show ‘Sinatra Night’, played at D’Angeleterre, Hindsgavl Slot and in Oslo and London. Besides this Andreas Vetö and his Orchestra has played a lot of concerts with Flemming Enevold and operasinger Susanne Elmark (the first cast at The Phantom of the Opera in Danmark), at several other occasions, and their collaboration is till going on.

During 2016 Andreas Vetö will, amoung other projects, be conducting The Danish National Chamber Orchestra and Tivoli Copenhagen Phil.

Big Band, Artistic Advisor

In recent years Andreas Vetö has become absorbed in the Big Band genre and as a Big Band conductor he has worked together with soloists such as Cæcilie Norby, Andrea Pelligrini, Malene Mortensen, Mark Linn, Anna David, Eivør and Safri Duo.

He has conducted The Danish Radio Big Band twice at a workshop and a concert, and in 2011 he started his own Big band, ‘Det Ny Big Band’ (“The New Big Band”).
In 2015 he conducted concerts and made a CD recording with The Danish Radio Big Band as a tribute to Carl Nielsen with singer Christian Hjelm and Tuva Semmingsen, and in May 2016 they played at the opening of Nordischer Klangfestival in Greifswald.

Andreas conducted ‘Det Ny Big Band’ in a first performance of a Carl Nielsen Suite composed by Peter Jensen and sung by Susanne Elmark.

Besides conducting, Andreas Vetö teaches the trumpet and ensemble playing at various music schools. He is the owner of the Music Agency ‘Forte Music’ delivering Music to customers such as ‘Fields’, ‘Slotsarkaderne’, ‘Humanic
Group’ a.o. and since 2012 he has been the artistic advisor at DTU advising and coordinating the Annual Festival, the Christmas Concert and other music events.
